Ultrabond
Ultraviolet Curing Adhesive Systems
LuminDynamics offers a complete line of ultraviolet curing adhesives and compounds, the Ultrabond line of products. These products are single component systems offering either ultraviolet light or ultraviolet light & primer initiated curing mechanisms. All Ultrabond products cure upon exposure to UV radiation. Twin or "dual-cure" types, working in conjunction with Primer, provide production processing latitudes to maximize assembly efficiencies.
Dedicated UV cure types, or "UV cure only" grades cure when exposed to UV light. All Ultrabond adhesives respond to exposure to high intensity medium pressure mercury arc UV lamps in the range of 365 nm (long wavelength) and 100 milliwatt per square centimeter intensity. Some Ultrabond systems function well with low intensity lamps, such as "black lights." Cure speeds are longer and gap fill ability is lower under these conditions.
Twin or dual-cure systems offer choice of UV and/or Primer to initiate curing. Use Primers to fully cure the adhesives anaerobically or to obtain fixturing strength prior to final full UV curing. Primers also Promote deeper cures.
Grade 706 & 717 (Clear to Amber Liquid)
- UV Cure Only
- Use for Bonding Clear Plastics to Metal
- Ultrabond 706 is a low viscosity system that wicks into preassembled parts. Ultrabond 717 is a high viscosity product applied during assembly. Long wave UV is required to cure, and surfaces exposed to air require secondary UV exposure.
- Both formulations are excellent for bonding clear plastics (PVC, PC, ABS, etc.) to metals. Typical applications include disposable medical devices, display goods, guard, and shields.

Grade 735 (Amber Liquid)
- UV or EF Primer 50 Cure
- Fast Cure Times
- General Purpose Bonding
- Ultrabond 735 is a dual cure, medium viscosity, quick curing anaerobic adhesive for general purpose application on rigid substrates. Bonds are flexible and tough. UV curing can achieve fixture times of 5-15 seconds.
- Ultrabond 735 works equally well with metals, thermoset plastics, ceramics, and glass. Parts can be opaque.

Grade 736 (Amber Liquid)
- UV or EF Primer 56 Cure
- Structural Anaerobic
- Flexible Bonds
- Tough Coatings
- Ultrabond 736 is a dual cure system which uses UV and/or EF Primer 56 to produce tough and flexible bonds and coatings. Maximum gap filling abilities is .060" with UV and .040" with Primer.
- 736 delivers high tensile shear strength, excellent impact resistance and temperature integrity to 275 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Use 736 for bonding glass to glass, glass in combination with other materials, and metal to metal bonds.

Grade 740 (Clear Liquid)
- UV Cure Only
- Potting & Tacking
- Cures Optically Clear
- Ultrabond 740 cures with great optical clarity. Gaps approach .250 inch.
- Ultrabond 740 provides excellent resistance to humidity and moisture. The cured bond is resistant to discoloring over long periods of time.
- Use 740 for glass, metals, some thermoplastics, and ceramics.
